To fix this, CMDTAB out of the game, draw a box with your cursor on the desktop to switch from csgoosx64 to Finder. The above used to fix that, however I believe currently the only fix is to restart your game. Ive noticed this happens more frequently when using the SHIFTTAB Steam Overlay, so I recommend avoiding using it. Additionally, before launching the game, close all other applications except for Steam. After that, change the file extension to be.cfg and go to into the CSGO folder and there will be a cfg folder to shove the config file into. Cs Go Issues Book Pro Retina : Steam Update Launch OptionsI am just too lazy to update launch options and they take like three seconds so I just do it manually. I just tried a couple of commands to force a resolution but yeah, they didnt work level 2 2 points 6 months ago I actually find that the game drops more frames (especially when looking at smokes) if I launch in such a way that I can access the higher stretched resolutions. That said, I still recommend playing with an external monitor. I play on 1024x728 and it doesnt look great but the bigger monitor helps, also Im pretty sure I get slightly higher fps than on the native screen. Couple of questions though: Is 70fps roughly what youd get without capping it there If not, why not take all the frames you can get level 2 Original Poster 1 point 6 months ago I play on a 60Hz monitor so anything over 60 is pointless as the monitors refresh rate is the limiting factor. I cap it in the hopes that it smooths out the stuttering a bit, which it definitely does. Try switching to something like fpsmax 600 while in a game for a few mins and then switch back to fpsmax 70 to see the difference. Cs Go Issues Book Pro Retina : Steam Mac Gaming DueContinue this thread level 1 1 point 6 months ago Why should you change the launch options What effects this change May you explain this step a Little bit More Btw ty for sharing i just started mac gaming due to quarantine level 2 Original Poster 2 points 6 months ago Essentially changing the launch options is the same as writing things in the console after starting the game. In theory you could combine the third step and second step so you wouldnt have to do the third step every time you play but it takes like 3 seconds to do so I just do it manually. ![]() However, the highest resolution in game allowed is 1024 x 768, which is extremely blurry. Is there a way for me to change this to 1280 x 960 level 2 Original Poster 2 points 6 months ago I play on Normal 4:3 with the black bars on the sides. I also used to play 1024x768 and its definitely quite a lot worse, especially when for example trying to hit someones head on Dust 2 if they are peeking from pit and you are A.
